The S&P 500 Index closed at 4,307.54 on 9/30/21, 5.06% below its all-time closing high of 4,536.95 on 9/2/21, according to Bloomberg. A Bloomberg survey of 21 equity strategists found that their average 2021 year-end price target for the S&P 500 Index was 4,466. It won’t improve in a straight line, but the trend should remain positive over the coming months and quarters. The charts in the Recovery Tracker highlight where the high frequency data indicators were in 2019, 2020, and in 2021.
